She was like: "Come over to my house for some coffee."


He was like, a little angry.


We know 'like' can have many meanings, but you knew that one of them can mean quoting someone or talking about emotions? 

Yes, as in the first sentence above, the 'she was' it's the same as 'she said'.

In the second sentence "like" is used to describe or convey emotions is common in informal spoken language, especially among younger generations and in casual conversation. However, its usage in this context is often considered less precise and more colloquial. 

In more formal or written language, you would typically omit "like" and say, "He was a little angry."
